Colourful vocals is city of Sombor’s children’s choir founded by Marija Hajnal Stošić in 2010. The choir hosts an annual Children’s music festival also called Colourful vocals. Marija has been its art director and choir conductor since.
Marija’s work on vocal interpretation skills with young singers, choreography and overall presentation, has put the Colourful vocals on the map not only of Sombor’s, but also on Serbia’s Youth Musical scene.
This choir counts 45 young members, age 5 to 11. It’s members attend numerous music festivals across Serbia and abroad, often achieving rewards and recognition. Among those are: The best children’s choir at Fedeho Choir festival in Belgrade, 2013; Grand Prix at Singing snowflakes Music Festival in Mrkonjic Grad, Republika Srpska, 2014; Captain Misha Anastasijevic – the Recognition of achievements and affirmation of music and art among children and youth; multiple prizes at International children’s music festivals such as Djurdjevdan Festival of Children’s song, Banja Luka, RS, That song is called love in Kikinda, Lashva’s flow in NOVI Trstenik, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Our joy in Podgorica, Montenegro.
Traditionally the choir gives concerts in Sombor and nationwide as a part of Seasonal Festivity project. It also produced few Winter Festivity TV musical shows that were broadcasted on RTV Vojvodina.
Since 2015 the Sombor Singing Society has launched a Colourful bus that tours across the country to give concerts together with the choirs from host cities, exchanging experiences, sharing love for music and singing, and forming new friendships. Marija Hajnal is the author of this project and the main driving force behind the wheels of this bus of Music.
